I inspected the runway today and it’s starting to settle into place as expected. With that, the runway will be back open this Wednesday the 22nd. I would ask that we limit only high profile aircraft with larger tires until the runway starts to tighten up some more, maybe another week. Then, we should be good with lower profile aircraft with lower ground clearance and smaller tires by Wednesday the 29th. Please inspect you landing location for any abnormalities after each landing. If it looks like small holes or tears are being created, please halt flying operations and give the runway a few more days to fully shrink and tighten into place. We spent a lot of time and $$$ on this project, so let’s all do our part keeping it in the best shape possible.
Also, the contractor will be at the field tomorrow/Tuesday to remove the old runway material while the field is closed. Should all be all removed and cleaned up by Wednesday morning.
Hey guys, this is Jay a member of the club. awesome work everybody team effort paid off. So I came this morning, brought my son out and just to see the progress of the runway it is looking great. We just have to give little more time as in the middle of the runway, it looked like it can use more sun. As just like Mark mentioned planes with bigger wheels probably be ok but, not my jets. Soon we all should be enjoying the new petromat. Cheers. Thank you
