Just a reminder that we are hosting our annual Gold Rush Challenge IMAC this weekend, September 9th and 10th. Contestants will be arriving and practicing on Friday. The field is available to club members to fly their planes after the competition each day, somewhere around 3:00 pm. If you are new to IMAC and want to participate, we are available on Friday to help work with you and invite you to join us for the competition. New Basic pilots pay no fees and receive a nice engraved plaque with their name engraved on it if they place in the top three in the Basic class. Its a wonderful way to get involved in this very rewarding way of flying, and you can fly any type of airplane you have!
We are also looking for volunteers. We need help both Saturday and Sunday to do a barbecue lunch for everyone attending the contest? If not, we just need help ordering and picking up subway in Thornton. If you’re up for doing the BBQ, something simple like water, chips, hotdogs. Let me know and I can coordinate. Thank you in advance. Mark Huntley – Club President, (916) 529-1279
Also, just a reminder, and I’ll send out another notice soon, the field will be CLOSED on Saturday, September 30th all day. In preparation of this special event, we need volunteers to help clean and beautify our field on Friday, September 29th. Lets show the owner of the field that we have pride and we are truly grateful for his generosity towards us by helping him with his event.
