Meeting Change! Our next TRCM club meeting with be on Saturday, July 15th at 10:00 am. Following the meeting, we are hosting an IMAC Boot Camp where members and guests can learn more about this sport and the judging criteria. We will start the ground school portion with a short briefing outlining the maneuvers and sequences flown in IMAC. Then, experienced IMAC pilots and judges will be on hand to provide one-on-one help and guidance while you fly your own aircraft. Hopefully, you will be excited as we are and will attend the “Gold Rush IMAC Challenge” the following weekend. We have had strong attendance in past training events and all participants will receive their very own stick-plane to work with! Even if you don’t compete in IMAC, your flying skills will improve.
Looks like we may be seeing more mosquitoes this year. There is a known recent invasive mosquito species that feasts on humans during the day and several members have commented lately about the uptick. We have tried spraying and treating the areas for mosquitoes with minimal impact. This new invasive mosquito is a daytime bitter and can breed on any source of fresh water unlike our native mosquito species which tends to only bite in the evening. I would encourage you to spray yourself with a good DEET repellent or picaridin spray. There are many to choose from and can be found on Amazon or local stores. One of my favorites is from Sawyer.
Have fun, fly safe and have a wonderful 4th of July celebration and we will see you on July 15th
