We will be removing the old runway starting this coming Monday, May 13th. A few RC pilots from Fresno will be arriving around 08:00 to help remove the old runway and take it with them to install at their new field. Once the old runway is removed, the owner of our property has agreed to help level the exposed runway with a full size grader and/or drag. It’s wonderful to have such a wonderful land owner that is so willing to help us! Once the grading is done, we will be installing the new runway and hope (our goal) to have our field flyable again by Friday. There is a lot of work to do, so if you can spare hand, a knee, or a hammer or two, please come out and join in the fun and be part of this exciting project. invite your friends and neighbors to help out, especially the younger ones that have good knees and a strong arm. If anyone would like to spearhead a BBQ lunch, let me know so we can arrange to feed everyone and keep the project moving along. Also, I’ll be meeting with a contractor this Thursday to see what labor they may be able to provide. They currently have our runway material and will be bringing it from Tracy to our field as soon as we are ready for it. I’ll keep everyone posted as best I can regarding our progress.
