Secretary: Al Doucette The usual calendars, pictures, etc,
Treasurer: Mitch Biddle Not present, Mitch is going to take care of purchasing the new chairs.
Field Marshal: Randy Laney Sprayed the perimeter, mowed around the edge of the runway.
Safety coordinator: Richard Arceo One fire extinguisher missing. Bob K. is going to donate an extra one, he has. Mark, suggested that all the extinguishers, need to be shaken, to loosen up the powder inside.
Webmaster: Neil Gates Somebody is messing with our website, he gets extraneous messages every day and is trying to keep on top of the interference. Looking into a paid subscription that would take care of the problem. Estimates about $150.00 a year. Wants to redo the calendar of events and also to include “new member” forms, etc.
V. Old business Results of poll pertaining to purchase of new chairs, (See above). The runway replacement has been changed, to getting rid of the old material, (probably renting a dumpster for removal), grading and packing the ground, before installing the new material. Pits will remain, as they are not in as bad shape as the runway. It is estimated that we probably will not get the new material until late summer. Need information about the passing of “Socks”. I think Mark is going to take care of that, as we remembered his name, at the end of the meeting. Memorial for him and Greg will take place on the 6th of May. Nancy will be there with her “Quartet”, as well as the “Model A Club”. To top it off, there will be a missing man formation by a group of pilots from the Lodi Airport. There will be a BBQ after.
VI. New Business: Discussion about FRIA (FAA Recognized ID Area). The paperwork for the new FRIA has been completed. Our airfield will be a designated flying area with the FAA. No need for a transponder. Shipping container, repair door or remove?, One of the members, says he has a welder and he thinks he can weld the hinges back on. There are plans to integrate the IMAC events (holding the event at our field), with a couple other clubs, who, for some reason or other, can not accommodate the event, at the time scheduled. Motion was made by Bob K. with a second by Nick C., to that affect. Dennis C. suggested a new member roster.
VII. Show and tell: Neil showed the new Lithium Ion battery packs that he has made. I don’t remember all the specifics. Suggest that anybody interested, talk to Neil. A little note, I have been using Lithium Ion batteries, in my helicopters, for twenty years, I build my own packs, also. Dennis C. showed his new E-Flite T-28. A small foamy, similar to our large raffle prize.
